Have you ever thought about what Armor is? A protective material covering your body against the forces of evil. In the medieval days, armor meant a metal breast plate a metal helmet, a shield, a sword and metal boots; today it is face shields, flak jackets, and sometimes a bullet proof shield. A believer’s armor is the word of God. We need to dress in the ARMOR OF GOD. We are told as Christians to put on the armor of GOD throughout the Bible. Are you ready to ARMOR UP?

In Ephesians 6:10-18 states, Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. ¹¹ Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. ¹² For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. ¹³ Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. ¹⁴ Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, ¹⁵ and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. ¹⁶ In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. ¹⁷ Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God

Our world is filled with darkness and forces of evil but the Word of GOD is our light. It is our ARMOR.  Attacks against Christians around the world are becoming more common place. The enemy is strong but our GOD is stronger and reigns on high. So I encourage you and all Christians to ARMOR UP. Get dressed every day with the Armor of GOD. Take your bible and let’s start covering our body with the ARMOR OF GOD.  Did you ask how do I do that? Well, let me share where to start. Open your bible, study and pray.

Start with the belt of truth, speak GOD’s word for it is the TRUTH and GOD’s TRUTH will set you free. Psalm 15:2; Psalm 31:5; Psalm 86:11; Zechariah8:16-19; Mark 10:15 are just a few of the scriptures that will teach you about TRUTH. Then cover yourself with the breast plate of righteousness and protect your heart. In a world where morals have become loose or nonexistent, we need to be refreshed by the word of God. Amoral and righteous life is an important part of our armor.  God’s laws provide us the perimeters of righteousness.  Live your life like Jesus lived his; let the Holy Spirit shine through you as you walk in faith.

Deuteronomy 6(entire chapter): Psalm 15:1-5, Isaiah 51:5; 1Timothy 6:11; Proverbs 15:9; enlightens us about righteousness.  Deuteronomy 6:25 remind us that if we are careful to obey all this law before the Lord our GOD, as he has commanded us, that will be our righteousness. Don’t forget the Helmet of salvation and the Sword of the Spirit, which is the word of GOD are the most vital parts of the ARMOR of GOD. Without salvation you have nothing.

Salvation is our path to eternal life, our path to a relationship with our Lord and Savior JESUS CHRIST. Romans 8:38-39.  For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Roman 10:9-10 reminds us that it is with our heart that we believe but it is with our mouth that we confess. Salvation is yours by simply asking Jesus to forgive you, to be your Lord and Savior, to come into your heart. We are saved by the grace of JESUS CHRIST.  A favorite scripture, John 3:16 declare it all. Our Sword of the Spirit is the HOLY SPIRIT, for the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spiritm joint and marrow, it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. The Holy Spirit discerns our thoughts and intentions. John 14:26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, who the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

Of all God’s gifts none are greater than the gift of the HOLY SPIRIT. 1Corinthians 12:13, John 15:26, Galatians 5:22-23, 1Corinthians 6:19-20,instuct us on the Holy Spirit. The Holy spirit is our God Conciousness; the Holy Spirit leads us, going before removing obstacles; the holy spirit is  our gateway to understanding, and the giver of gifts. The Holy Spirit resides in each of us allowing us to be disciples of Christ in this worlds showing his mercy and grace.

Father,  Our desire is to be Christian Soldiers dressed in the Armor of God, so that we might bring light out of darkness, joy out of sadness, and love our of hatred. We know that this is only possible with GOD; and with the Armor of GOD.  Lord, thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit that resides in us. May the Holy Spirit continue to lead us. May we show the world his mercy and grace while glorifying you Lord.  In the most precious and mighty name of JESUS….AMEN.
